I wrote about Miou Miou (Karolina Dytrtová, Jara Tarnovski,
Breta Oliva, Petr Krásný, Atolka Hattanová, Tomáš
Knoflíèek) some time ago. Now released their first full-lenght
album called La La Grande Finale (on Piper Records,
May 2006). Also created music for an animated film. MM sing in French
but are absolutely Czech-based band.
It´s a kind of sweet indie pop sound much influenced by the
likes Stereolab or Serge Gainsbourg and French chansons. Their new
album La La Grande Finale is a collection of sweet pop melodies, singer´s
airy voice and guitars soft tunes. Catchy songs, nice lyrics. The
band is now working on the animated video and supporting the album
with a tour around the Czech republic.
